Police name Cofton man killed in crash

The man killed in a Cofton Hackett car crash last Friday night has been named as James Ansell, who lived in Cofton.

Police say 31-year-old Mr Ansell died at the scene when the blue Peugeot 206 he was driving was in collision with an orange Volkswagen Beetle in Kendal End Road, just after 11pm on November 4.

The female driver of the Beetle and her male passenger are both still in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and are in a stable condition.

Sgt Steve Hastie said: “This is a tragic event and our thoughts are with the dead man’s family and friends at this time.”

“An investigation has been launched into how and why this collision occurred, and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact us on 0300 333 3000, quoting reference 780-S-041111.”

An inquest was been opened and adjourned by the Worcestershire Coroner today.
