The presence of large numbers of cormorants on Bittell Reservoir in Barnt Green has sparked fears of a “cormorant crisis”, district councillor Charlie Hotham told Barnt Green Parish Council.
“I recently attended a Barnt Green Waters meeting and they said the cormorants are a big problem – they are taking all the mid-sized fish. The plan is to use bird scarers to try to get rid of them.”
