Rt Rev Anne Hollinghurst welcomes Sheri

The Rev Sheri Gidney was officially installed as Vicar of Holy Trinity, Lickey and St Catherine’s, Blackwell, in a special “Collation” service.

Sheri has most recently been serving her three-year curacy in the next-door parish of Cofton Hackett and Barnt Green, and takes up her new position following the retirement of the previous vicar, Margaret Brighton.

The service at Holy Trinity was led by the Rt Rev Anne Hollinghurst, Bishop of Aston, and Sheri was installed in the parish by the Venerable Jenny Tomlinson, Archdeacon of Birmingham.

Sheri was warmly welcomed by members of the local community and congregation, with symbols representing her future ministry in the parish.

Following the service, refreshments and a chance to chat were enjoyed by family, friends, community and congregation members, and clergy including Area Dean, Rev Canon Rob Fieldson, in the Trinity Centre.

Details of groups for children and young people, bereavement support, coffee mornings, singing, art and crafts, baptisms, weddings, funerals, Sunday services and hiring the halls can all be found on the parish Facebook page or https://www.lickeychurch.com
