The Lawns care home in Alvechurch had the opportunity to celebrate the appointment of new manager Lukas Rokita with an Easter coffee morning for residents, families and friends.
This was the first event organised by Lukas and his team since he took on the role, having been deputy manager since August 2018. Guests enjoyed an Easter bonnet parade, tombola, “guess the weight of the cake”, “guess the name of the teddy” and a raffle, plus village entertainers Jean and Adrian.
Lukas has worked in the care sector for the past 15 years in various roles within care homes and nursing homes, and says he finds it particularly rewarding to work with people who are living with dementia and to promote person-centred dementia care.
“I am very proud to be the manager of The Lawns. I have put in all my heart and a lot of hard work since day one to ensure that the residents live in a safe and happy environment,” says Lukas.
“I am working closely with my team and I have a lot of ideas for the future of The Lawns. We are planning a lot more events in the next few months, so watch this space – everybody will be welcome to join us.”
