Housing study is ‘conjecture’

-

The “Barntchurch” report would not be accepted as evidence by a judge, the chairman of Alvechurch Parish Council told Bromsgrove strategic planning chief Mike Dunphy during a presentation to the council.

Mr Dunphy has previously called the study by consultants GL Hearn “a thorough evidence base to take matters forward through the district plan review process”.

But Coun Andy Humphries said: “I am not sure it is evidence. A judge would just rule that it is conjecture and it is not evidence. It is a desk-top study.”

And Coun John Cypher said: “I think people are quite scared by that – 15,000 homes between Alvechurch and Barnt Green.”

Mr Dunphy replied: “The reason we have included the Hearn report is we need to understand the issues. The more information we have in this consultation helps us to articulate our responses to it.”
