Village roofing contractors DJ Scriven did their bit for the community by offering their services to TV’s DIY SOS team, who had appealed for local tradespeople to help out with their latest “Big Build” in Lickey End.
The mission was to create a two-storey extension, enabling a resident to offer a home to her disabled sister – with traders giving their time and materials free of charge.
“I have never seen so many trades in one place before and the whole atmosphere was electric,” says Dave Scriven.
“I think I did get filmed at some point, but our main aim was to show support. It was nice to see the ‘stars’ doing their part too – they are all hard workers.”
The show is expected to air on BBC1 sometime in the next year.
