A team of Alvechurch cricketers are celebrating after they took the top spots in a festival competition.
Alvechurch Divas, who play at the village cricket club, entered two teams in the Women’s Softball Cricket Festival at Five Ways Old Edwardians Cricket Club in Hopwood, and finished first and second.
The festival was part of the “Bomber Day” annual inter-club cricket celebration and aimed to get more women and girls involved in the sport.
Anyone interested in joining the Divas can go along to Alvechurch cricket club on Wednesday evenings from 6.30–8pm. No experience is needed – just turn up.
