Parking is a blight

-

I am surprised that the Barnt Green Parish Council feel they need to sit on the fence (The Village, December 2015) with regard to the selfish parking that blights our village.

This is not a them-and-us situation – whether the transgressors are residents, school parents or shoppers, all should be condemned.

However, it is not only the antisocial parking that these people bring to our village, but all too often a torrent of foul-mouthed abuse will follow if one dares to challenge their behaviour.

This is indeed most unpleasant and unfortunate; perhaps a positive course of action to try and alleviate some of the parking problems could be the instigation of a walking bus from The Vic, the social club or, nearer the school, the station car park.

Might I suggest that the parish council, school and the PTA work together to bring this about?
