Barnt Green Scouts have issued an urgent plea for a new Scout leader to enable the section to continue its 78-year tradition in the area.
Current Scouts were reminded of the value of Scouting during a recent Zoom Scouts meeting when Baron Jones of Alvechurch (above, right) recalled for current youngsters how, as the young Digby Jones, he used to cycle over to Barnt Green from his home in Alvechurch every week to attend Scout meetings.
Group Scout Leader Darren Goodenough said that without someone willing to run the Scouts, with help from the current leader, the section was facing closure.
