Rhinos’ festival of rugby

Kings Norton RFC kicked off its 2019/20 Primary School Tag Rugby season of festivals in October, with 16 teams taking part from ten local primary schools. This was a ”come and try Tag Rugby” event where many of the children were new to the game.

The teams came from Bournville, West Heath, St John Bosco, Kings Norton, The Meadows, St Marys, St Laurence, St John Fisher, Tiverton and Hawkesley primary schools. Kings Norton RFC were really pleased to see this season St John Fisher, Hawkesley and Tiverton who have just started taking an interest in the game.

The event was followed by a re-run of the Rugby World Cup Primary Schools Tag Rugby Festival hosted by KNRFC last June. The aim was to celebrate the Rugby World Cup and to encourage local schoolchildren to come along and try rugby.

The KNRFC Rhinos youth teams meet on Sundays at 10am at Hopwood Park, Ash Lane, and there is no charge to come and try the game for a few weeks to see if you like it – the team look forward to seeing you there.
