My family used to live at Scarfield Farm. My mother, who is now 92, remembers with fondness the prisoners of war who helped out on the farm.
She remembers Heinz, who made my parents a clock out of old car bits for their wedding. She thinks they were housed in a camp in Tanyard Lane. She remembers cleaning and preparing an out house for them but says they weren’t allowed to stay over.
Can anyone give me some leads on this? We would love to trace Heinz and his family.
