Hopwood’s “road watch” may be escalated as a result of an accident at the end of last year in which a pedestrian died.
Coun John Cypher told Alvechurch Parish Council: “It may go from being a Community Concern Programme to being a Casualty Reduction Programme – and if it does, then we can be in line for a fixed speed camera.”
County councillor Charlie Hotham said this was interesting to hear, adding: “Worcestershire has let Hopwood down extremely badly because nothing promised from the Longbridge development has materialised.”
Parish chairman Andy Humphries is hoping representatives from the West Mercia Safer Roads Partnership would come to the council’s March meeting.
