Council ‘disregard’ for residents

-

I am a resident of Kendal End Road and would agree wholeheartedly with the resident of Cherry Hill Road (“Lack of urgency in road closure”, March 2017) – the contractors failed to make provision for pedestrians and it was only after the intervention of Councillor McDonald that a path was provided.

We lucky pedestrians get to use the railway bridge; very handy when the ground is slippery as this is not gritted. The traffic madness that has ensued by leaving one small access into a busy village is ridiculous.

I feel, as a resident, that the council showed utter disregard for the residents.

It would have been nice had we had a letter explaining what was happening; we don’t get the local papers delivered so are in blissful ignorance of the reasons why until the closures happen and we then start searching online.
