I was interested to read the letter regarding the traffic in Alvechurch (Village Views, May 2016). As a resident in Rowney Green and horse owner I have never seen such a change in the traffic on Rowney Green Lane.
On a normal day from sunrise you can have haulage lorries one after another, tractors one after the other, and quad bikes are the new thing, actually racing around the lane.
The other morning I couldn’t even get out of our drive with traffic signs for building works and vehicles.
I was told by Bromsgrove Council that this lane is green belt conservation land – I think they need to take another look at it!
If you want to ride your horse out, unless it is as bombproof as a police horse, I think 5.30am on a weekend morning is the only safe time.
