Skater boys’ petition

Skater boys

A group of Alvechurch schoolboys are pressing councillors for a skate park in the village so they don’t have to travel to the one in Bromsgrove.

A petition organised by Louise Pulling and Henry Ball (pictured, left and far right, with friends Alec Ward and Dan Davis) garnered around 200 names in support of the idea.

The boys have now presented the petition to Alvechurch Parish Council.

The parish council spent £15,000 on a skate half-pipe in 1999, sited on Swan’s Length close to the current site of the MUGA, but it was removed into storage by Bromsgrove District Council a year later after complaints from a vocal minority of residents who said it was too noisy.
