Fancy a year Down Under?

G’day Editor – I am hoping there is someone out there who may be interested in a 12-month house swap with us out here in Australia.

We lived in Barnt Green for four very happy years in the 1980s before coming back here for family reasons and would love to return to my green and pleasant land for a year.

We come over to England regularly but it’s always a hectic few weeks dashing around, seeing friends and relatives and for once we want to come back to live there – and the Barnt Green and surrounding area, which we know so well, would be ideal.

We live in a village called Bundanoon, part of the Southern Highlands area of New South Wales, half way between Sydney and Canberra, each being about one and a half hours’ journey by road or rail.

We are in the process of building our new home in Bundanoon, a traditional type bungalow with open plan kitchen, spacious living/dining area, a study, three bedrooms and two bathrooms in a lovely spot in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking the countryside, but only a 10-minute flat walk to the village shops and railway station.

We are looking to come over in spring of next year – April/May 2016 – but we can be flexible with dates. There are obviously many things to discuss, which is why I am writing this letter well in advance, but for anyone who’s interested please email me on .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

I will also be over in September this year for a brief visit and would be happy to meet up for a chat with anyone who’s interested.

Robert Smith (68, retired Quantity Surveyor) and Carina Smith (63, practice nurse due for retirement next year),
