Kids with Doc McStuffins

Children at Lickey End Playgroup held a Pink Week, helping to raise more than £645 towards the installation of an automated external defibrillator for Lickey End Methodist Church and the surrounding community.

Pink was the chosen colour because the box housing the defibrillator will be pink. The box has been kindly donated by a local couple in memory of their own children.

Playgroup pupils wore pink outfits and decorated biscuits with pink icing, as well as greeting a special guest – popular TV character Doc McStuffins. She checked their chests with her stethoscope, danced to music from Frozen and posed for pictures with the children.

One of the children also took the initiative and raised more than £57 (and counting) by buying ‘Young Hearts Matter’ wristbands and selling them at a higher price.

The target to purchase the defibrillator to go inside the pink box is £1,000. If you would like to help, online donations can be made at https://www.redditchheartsafe.com/donate
