Noise of the ghost buses

-

This is a copy of a letter we have sent to Network West Midlands regarding the Number 45 bus.

We are residents of Groveley Lane, Cofton Hackett. We strongly object to the frequency of double decker buses, mostly speeding past our house, literally every few minutes in both directions. Some grind noisily up and down the hill with badly worn running gear.

In recent weeks we have been continually subjected to these noisy polluting buses being driven through this beautiful rural area by Cofton Park.

We very rarely see passengers travelling on the 45 bus along Groveley Lane and consider the running of many empty buses incomprehensible.  We would not object if there was a real need for this service.

Recently we travelled on the bus to see if the route could be changed in Cofton Hackett. We believe it can.  That day the bus driver said “It was a waste of money driving empty buses along Groveley Lane”.

We request please: That the 45 service is diverted away from Groveley Lane to Lowhill Lane, terminating at Parsonage Drive, Cofton Hackett.

Distressed residents who cannot sit in their house or garden without irritating continual noise from early morning until late at night.
