We had a reminder at the weekend of how rural our village is, by the appearance of three roe deer in our garden – two inside the fence and one in the field on the other side.
This is the first time we have ever seen them here. They were eating fallen apples at the bottom of the garden, but jumped the fence and ran off before we could get a proper photo.
Only the rear of the last deer got in the picture. The cock pheasant in the foreground is a regular daily visitor.
