Tipping point

-

I got the feeling of deja vu reading your article in the October issue about the frustration of the local residents over Marlbrook Tip.

The residents of Weatheroak can only sympathise: we suffered four years of pounding lorries filling the Alcott Farm bund to several times the permitted quantity. The council took no action then.

Peaceful protests will achieve little; we are dealing with jobsworths whose agenda is to avoid decision-making, and preserve their own positions until pension day or promotion arrives, with gongs no doubt for the councillors.

We know from daily news bulletins that those in public service are untouchable; I’m sorry I can offer therefore no legal solution.
