Bordesley homes vetoed

-

The threat of a sea of houses spreading into the Village area from Redditch has eased.

The “Bordesley Park” option, which could have seen housing reach as far as Rowney Green, has been ruled out under the latest joint proposals from Redditch and Bromsgrove councils.

Their Housing Growth Policy, which is proposing sites in Bromsgrove for 3,400 homes linked to Redditch, has identified an area next to Webheath for 2,800 and an extension of the Brockhill estate for a further 600 homes.

Alvechurch parish chairman John Cypher said a response to the proposals was still needed because protests by the people of Brockhill could still draw Bordesley back into the plans.
