Who are the houses for?

-

I was shocked to read in the June issue of The Village a fellow villager from Alvechurch trying to suggest that Barnt Green has never had any houses built in its boundary.

If Mrs Leek was to take a walk around Barnt Green she would note houses have been built in Barnt Green.

The question is very different to what Mrs Leek is suggesting, we are not talking about a few houses we are talking about hundreds. The main argument to build in our villages is because we need houses for our own population and that is the question we should be asking: who is this housing area being built for?

If we don’t stand up for our communities we will lose them and we might as well call this magazine The Town! We must stand up for our community before jumping on the bandwagon of “we need more houses”.
