Chaddesley Junior Strings

The recent Bromsgrove Arts Alive Fun Day, postponed from June and run as a joint event with North Bromsgrove High School’s October Community Day, was very well attended.

The majority of the forty-strong membership either had stands, offered demonstrations or performed on stage during the day. Founder member Artrix, by far the largest single act, entertained with around a hundred children signing, dancing and acting.

Other performers included The Sixth-formers jazz band, Ragtime Miracle Tonic, Step on Board dancers accompanied by Bromsgrove Folk, and Swan Playwrights giving a rendition of Cinderella.

There was a delightful musical interlude by the newest BAA member, Chaddesley Junior Strings (pictured above), conducted by Georgia Vale, with players ranging from eight to 13 years old.

Face painting, bouncy castle, sword fighting, football and drumming were some of the other attractions on the day – and there was also a surprise visit from Bromsgrove’s very own Pirate Queen Charlotte Badger and her crew!
