I note from The Village February 2008 the provision of a play area in Blackwell.
£40,000 is a great deal of money to be spent to provide a facility for a comparably small community, and the wording in the piece “£40,000 playtime” gives the impression that these are funds arising from taxation.
The fact is, that this money is “106” money – put up by developers to Bromsgrove District Council to avoid providing leisure/recreational facilities as part of their developments.
Meanwhile, may I congratulate The Village on the front cover of the February edition; great publicity for the parish of Lickey and Blackwell.
