The campaign to raise funds for the bells at St Laurence continued during the summer with a Table Top Sale at the Baptist Church Hall and a coffee morning at the Cricket Club.
There were plans for a car wash in August but that had to be postponed due to the water shortage.
The next major event will be a concert of Songs from the Shows by the Gemini Choir at St Laurence on October 28. The concert starts at 7:30 pm and will be followed by refreshments in the Ark. More details from Michael Davenport on 0121 447 7709.
The ringers are organising a Lamb Roast for May Day next year but have a small problem. They will be roasting two whole lambs that evening but don’t have anywhere to store them between collecting them on the Saturday and cooking them on the Monday.
Is there anyone in the village with a large fridge, larder or cellar who could store them? They do not need to be frozen, just kept cool for two days.
