I noted with alarm the item under the heading “Lawns celebrates plans victory” in the April edition of The Village.
This appears to be a prime example of how our environment is deteriorating by the planning system, which enables “butchers, bakers and candlestick makers” to overrule their officers’ professional advice.
While I have no doubt that demand for this accommodation exists, a quality design is also required, particularly as the proposals relate to important buildings and surroundings.
