There are so many troubling issues affecting Alvechurch at present. There are plans to move our village school to a site close to a major motorway, exposing our children to nine years of traffic noise and emissions.
Added to this there is the threat of the rendering plant a mile or so away. Developers are poised to seize any patch of land on which to cram a few more houses. We have the continuing loss of vital bus services to Birmingham and Redditch.
All this to be faced by a village community deeply divided by the actions of the leaders of the parish church.
But it’s not all bad news. Alvechurch can boast one outstanding facility. We have a wonderful public toilet! Always clean, with water, soap and plenty of toilet paper should the need arise. Whoever is responsible for this deserves an award.
