May was too cold to think of casting clouts

Up to the time of writing, May has been quite cold, with the mean temperature to the 19th at 10.6C, which is -0.8C below average for the month. Rainfall, meanwhile, was already 51mm, which is 90% of the average for the entire month.

April passes with few showers and plenty of sun

April has been a generally dry and quite warm and sunny month to date (22nd) with only 26.5mm of rain – which is 44 per cent of the average for the month.
