‘No decision made’ about Quaker hall

-

Central England Quakers have told The Village that no decision has been made about the future of their Barnt Green meeting house.

They were responding to the statement by the Quaker representative in Barnt Green, reported in The Village magazine, that the site in Sandhills Road was to be given to the village GP surgery.

The trustees of the Central England Quakers have told The Village: “There are no plans to gift the building and land to the Barnt Green Surgery.

“No decision has been made about the future of the Meeting House in Sandhills Road.

“Central England Quakers are currently discussing the management of the building which is presently closed to due Covid 19 restrictions but which was previously used by many community groups in the village.”

The trustees added: “Regular hirers will be contacted when there are changes in the arrangements to use the rooms when Covid 19 restrictions are lifted. The building will be maintained by the trustees’ property committee.”

For queries about the hall, contact the Clerk to Central England Quakers Trustees by email: clerk.trustees@outlook.com or by phone: 07538076912.
