Walking for Oscar
Sep 21 all-day
Alvechurch residents are invited to join in the last 10 miles of a sponsored walk from Worcestershire Royal Hospital to the QE Hospital in Birmingham.
The walk on Saturday September 21 is to raise funds for blood cancer charities DKMS and the Anthony Nolan Trust, inspired by five-year-old Oscar Saxelby-Lee, who received a stem cell transplant earlier this year.
Alvechurch will be a stopping point on the route where friends and family will join in, and Alvechurch Fisheries (Bittell Road, B45 8BW) will also be holding a sign-up event for those interested in becoming stem cell or bone marrow donors.
For full details, email oscars.worcester.walkers@gmail.com, or search for OscarsWorcesterWalkers on Facebook or @OscarsWalkers on Twitter.
