With the new Cofton Village Hall nearing completion, community groups have buried a time capsule on the site.
The Cofton Village Hall Trust, Lickey Hills Primary School, Pride of Longbridge and Cofton Hackett Brownies were involved in the project, alongside residents with links to the former Austin and MG Rover plant.
The capsule includes drawings by schoolchildren, posters of cars made at Longbridge, leaflets from local businesses, and photographs of the area.
The Trust still hopes to raise £40,000 for the hall. To learn more, visit http://www.coftonvillagehall.org, http://www.gofundme.com/CoftonVillageHall or ring the Trust’s secretary, Shelagh O’Loughlin, on 0121 447 745.
