Villagers enjoyed a concert by The Choir With No Name at Alvechurch Baptist Church, where the recent Christmas Tree Festival had raised funds for the choir as well as a homeless shelter.

The Birmingham-based choir, one of four in the UK, is made up of people affected by homelessness.

The concert, which also featured poems read by church members, raised £639 for the choir after expenses – in addition to proceeds from the Festival which raised £820 each for the choir and St Basil’s Shelter in Birmingham.

A “Reverse Advent Calendar” had also received sweets, toiletries and gifts for the choir.
