Kings Norton Rugby club kicked off this season’s local schools festivals and activities with a fun Tag Rugby event, for children in years 5 and 6 from eleven nearby schools.

Under the direction of Craig Ellicott, PE master from St Laurence School in Northfield, 12 squads of players numbering 120 in total took to the field.

Other schools taking part were West Heath, The Meadows, Hollywood, Bournville, Northfield Manor, Wootton Wawen, Kings Norton, Wychall and Raddlebarn.

Many of the children were new to the game, but the fun and excitement generated made for a great watch for the spectators and parents.

Further schools events are planned throughout the season as part of the club’s commitment to sport development in the local area.

Kings Norton RFC welcomes all local children to come and take part in their junior section, The Rhinos.

Want to give it a “TRY”? Rhinos training and games take place from 10am each Sunday morning throughout the season at Hopwood Park.
