Jazz group finds new village home

-

Lickey End Social Club has come to the rescue after a local orchestra was left homeless.

The Worcestershire Jazz Orchestra has been performing successful concerts at the Droitwich Legion, but that venue closed down suddenly, forcing the group to cancel its last event. However, it has now made the Lickey End club its regular rehearsal and concert venue.

The band is an 18-piece big band playing a wide range of swing from the 1930s to the present, and comprises some of the best players in the Midlands.

The first Lickey concert is on October 7 – see What’s On for details.
