Training on Bredon Hill

Students from Hunters Hill Technology College in Blackwell are in training for the arduous Three Peaks Challenge this summer, raising money for their school.

The college, which provides special educational provision for youngsters with moderate learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties and poor social awareness, organises many extra-curricular opportunities to help its pupils’ confidence and self-esteem.

This year a group of staff and students will climb the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

During the challenge students will learn how to support, motivate and build up team work, patience, resilience, endurance and communication, all of which are important for leading an independent lifestyle.

Money raised will be used to provide positive opportunities within education, sport, social interaction and work within the community.
