When the clocks went back and the earlier dark nights arrived, there was a sudden resurgence of outdoor life on the estate. It seemed as if every child living here was dressed up and braving the chill to offer neighbours the option of a trick or a treat on October 31.

Sir – I was pleased to read in November’s Village that another local resident has raised concerns about the proposed car park opposite Tesco in Marlbrook.

Sir – This morning my father, who is 79, was almost barged off his bike on a cycle track through the Oakalls on his morning journey to the newsagent to fetch his paper.

Sir – What a pity that Alvechurch residents so keen to be linked to Bromsgrove do not shop there.
